I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Summer Solstice than to spend a little time exploring the beach at low tide.
Thanks to a friend who suggested we meet her for a stroll along Alki Beach in West Seattle, we saw an osprey diving for a fish, an eagle scoping out the water, a woman hula-hooping with multiple hoops, and many more (but not too many) beachcombers and explorers just like us.

Love the expression on your little boy’s face! Is that the beach where Meg Ryan sees Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle? I plan to view the Supermoon.

He gets very excited about throwing rocks and sand into the water, Martie! Now it seems he even counts “1, 2, 3…” (in his own babble) before he releases the object. And yes, part of the movie was filmed on Alki.
Hope you enjoy the super moon!

I’m taking the kids to Eastern Washington to search out some sand dunes. We plan to sled down. 🙂

How exciting, John! Where are the dunes? I love to check them out some day…only big dunes that I’ve run down are in the Outer Banks of NC. Bet they’ll have a blast.
