How confident are you in your first aid skills? When’s the last time you brushed up on your skills? Admittedly, it’s been a while for me. Because of that, I’m so thankful for this month’s Think Outside Box! You may be able to guess the theme already: FIRST AID!
This First Aid box from Think Outside is our NINTH unboxing! In case you missed the previous eight unboxings, here’s the rundown:
Think Outside Boxes is a year-long monthly subscription service that’s geared towards kids 7 and up! Each month, subscribers receive a box in the mail based around a theme. The service begins with an introductory box that includes a backpack (color of your child’s choice), and some other small goodies to encourage outdoor exploration. The boxes that follow depend on when the subscription is initiated.
After the intro box, each box includes up to 5 pieces of outdoor gear, an activity book, and a set of waterproof reference cards that goes along with the month’s theme.
Think Outside Boxes Subscription Cycle:
Spring Boxes: Shelter, First Aid & Weather
Summer Boxes: Navigation, Nutrition & Nature
Fall Boxes: Night, Water & Fire
Winter Boxes: Wildlife, Repair & Knot

Accidents happen! I really appreciate the focus on education in this month’s (first aid) Think Outside Box. The tutorials are easy to follow, and Bergen was instantly engaged in many of the lessons and resources. We plan to keep the Activity Booklet in our backpack so we can reference the information in case we need it. Hopefully we won’t, but it’s there if we do!
Also two of Bergen’s favorite activities just happened to be inside the box! First, the silly story challenge card featured a “mad-libs”-type fill in the blank activity. He recently learned about these at school, and has SO much fun with them. Plus, he’s learning parts of speech & honing his creativity.
And second, have you ever tried the Hocus Focus puzzle that is in most newspapers? The puzzle shows two images that are almost exactly the same. The challenge is to find the half a dozen or so differences. Well, Think Outside created their own version, which got a certain 7.5 year old in our family giddy with excitement!

Do you receive any subscription boxes? We’d love to hear which one & what you think! And stay tuned! The Think Outside Boxes WEATHER box is up next!
Thanks to Think Outside for providing us with complementary boxes for purposes of review and promotion! As always, opinions expressed here are my own and honest.
