Baseball season has officially started! We attended the Mariners opening day last week, and had a blast celebrating the new park sponsor, T-Mobile, and an opening day win (and now, series win) against the Boston Red Sox. Today I’m sharing all the opening day fun with a video!
In addition, I thought I’d highlight all the kid-friendly things that you can do at T-Mobile Park. Mariner games are a big part of our spring and summer. Win or lose, we look forward to going to games as a family. You’ll learn about all the kid-friendly features (and catch a bit of the opening day action) in the video below. Is there a feature we missed? Make sure to leave us a comment! Also, if you have a favorite kid-friendly ballpark to recommend, let’s chat.
Seattle Mariners T-Mobile Park with Kids
Go Sign-up for the Kids Club
After signing up for the Mariners Kids Club (300 level), kids receive a drawstring backpack, whiffle ball, and lanyard with a name badge, all for free! In addition, kids will receive special mail from the Mariners throughout the season. Tune into the video to learn more about the special stamp program. In short, when kids attend 4 games, they get a special Mariners Kids Club pin!
Kids Corner
The Kids Corner is located on the 300 level (right next to the Kids Club sign-up area), and has stations for kids to practice hitting, pitching, and running to first base. There is also a mini baseball diamond perfect for pick-up games with family and friends. The Kids Corner has gorgeous views of the water and Seattle skyline along with several fun photo opportunities (learn more in the video).
Kids Play Area
The Kids Play Area is located on the main (100) level of T-Mobile Park, and is geared toward younger kids. The area features climbing structures and slides. With TVs in place, parents can still pay attention to the game, and there is also a special concessions area. Located just outside the Kids Play Area is a Mariners Team Store dedicated to kids, and fountain with a young baseball player for making a wish!
Moose Den
Just down from the Kids Play Area in section 191 is the Moose Den! 90 to 30 minutes before first pitch, and during the 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th innings, kids have a chance to meet the moose, and get their picture taken. You also might get lucky, and find him as he is making his rounds around the ball park. See the video for Georgia’s experience with this!
Art Walk
If the kids need a break from the action, put together a little art walk for them with all the amazing art throughout T-Mobile Park. You could even print out the Art in the Park information for reference. Highlights include:
- Chandelier made of baseball bats (home plate gate, main concourse)
- Statue of Dave Niehaus (section 105, right center field)
- Baseball Quilts (main concourse, right field gate)
- The Crowd (center field gate, main concourse)
Hall of Fame/Baseball Museum of the Pacific Northwest
Take a stroll through Mariners baseball history learning about some of our most famous players. Past baseball teams and leagues of the Pacific Northwest are also featured. Georgia (our 4-year old) was particularly interested in the dug out bench from Sick’s Stadium (former home of the Seattle Rainiers & Seattle Pilots).
Wander and Watch
Part of the beauty of T-Mobile Park is that you do not need to be stuck in your assigned seats for the entirety of the game. Wander around, and take in the game for other vantage points throughout the stadium, such as Hit it Here Cafe, or various standing areas. See video for ideas.
Bonus!
If it is your child’s first Mariner game, make sure to head to Guest Services (section 128) where he or she can receive a special first game certificate!
