We are headed off on a cold weather adventure this weekend! As I went to print off one of our packing lists, I realized that there are a lot of unnecessary items on the list. Since our kids are no longer babies and toddlers, I decided that it would be a good idea to make an updated version!
Items such as sippy cups, cribs, and diapers are very important to have on the list for those stages. However, now that our kids are in grade school, that’s a lot of extra visual clutter. Dressing for Cold Weather
Our tips for dressing for cold weather, and the cold weather packing list go hand in hand. In order to dress for a cold weather adventure, you need to make sure you pack appropriate cold weather gear that works for you.
Over the years, we’ve developed a basic routine of base layer, mid layer, and waterproof outer layer that works well for our whole family. Keys for us, especially here in Washington State, are layers and waterproof!
Cold Weather Activities
There are so many adventures and interesting projects to take on in the cold weather months. Let the season inspire you to do things that are unique to the conditions. We have dozens of ideas in the cold weather activity guide linked below, but a few of my favorites include our Winter Scavenger Hunt, Conifer Cone Search, and collecting twigs for a handmade craft.
